The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) signed today, a strategic framework agreement with Italy’s energy company, Eni, to explore new opportunities for collaboration in carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS), where ADNOC is an industry leader, and additional strategic opportunities in research and development (R&D) across the oil and gas value chain.

Schlumberger CEO Olivier Le Peuch commented, “Full-year revenue for 2019 was $32.9 billion, a level essentially flat with 2018. Overall performance was positive—particularly in the international markets—and we generated $2.7 billion in free cash flow, which was a remarkable achievement under these market conditions. Full-year pretax segment operating margin of 12%, however, was slightly down year-on-year.

Norway's preliminary production figures for December 2019 show an average daily production of 2 082 000 barrels of oil, NGL and condensate, which is an increase of 95 000 barrels per day compared to November.

In 2019, NOVATEK’s hydrocarbon production totaled 590.1 million barrels of oil equivalent (boe), including 74.70 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas and 12,148 thousand tons of liquids (gas condensate and crude oil), resulting in an increase in total hydrocarbons produced by 41.0 million boe, or by 7.5% as compared with the twelve months 2018.

Solar and wind power use has grown at a rapid rate over the past decade or so, but as of 2018 those sources accounted for less than 4% of all the energy used in the U.S.

U.S. dry gas production will fall to 94.11 billion cubic feet per day (bcfd) in 2021 from a record 94.74 bcfd in 2020. The current all-time high is 92.03 bcfd in 2019.

Last year, China imported a record 506 million tonnes of crude oil, 9.5% above 2018’s level, according to data from the General Administration of Customs.

Australia has officially become the world’s largest exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG) on an annualized basis, overtaking the previous titleholder Qatar.

"At ADNOC we are well on track to increase crude oil production capacity to 4mbpd by the end of this year, and we made significant new discoveries last year that moved the UAE from the seventh to the sixth-largest in oil and gas reserves in the world," Al Jaber said.

The increase in spending to between 85 billion and 95 billion yuan ($12.34 billion to $13.79 billion) compares with 2019 capital expenditure estimated at 80.2 billion yuan, slightly more than previous expectations.
