IRAN & RUSSIA: TURKMENISTAN CONTINUE

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed his country's determination to continue cooperation with Iran and Russia in the energy sector.

The president stressed that it is important to ensure supplying gas to the foreign markets in the volumes stipulated by the agreements signed with Iran and Russia, Iran's SHANA news agency reported.

"First of all, it is necessary to ensure natural gas extraction for the domestic market and supply to the foreign markets in the volumes stipulated upon the signed contracts," the president said.

Berdimuhamedov outlined to continue working with Russia and Iran upon the signed contracts.

NIGERIA'S GDP UP 2%

IMF - Higher oil prices and short-term portfolio inflows have provided relief from external and fiscal pressures but the recovery remains challenging. Inflation declined to its lowest level in more than two years. Real GDP expanded by 2 percent in the first quarter of 2018 compared to the first quarter of last year. However, activity in the non-oil non-agricultural sector remains weak as lower purchasing power weighs on consumer demand and as credit risk continues to limit bank lending.
