NO SANCTIONS FOR RUSSIA

The gas sector is not suitable for a list of possible sanctions against Russia, so despite the crisis, the EU will continue gas partnership with it, European Energy Commissioner Guenther Oettinger said, Ukrinform reported on May 17.

According to him, "Russian partners are the most important suppliers of gas to the European Union market. It has lasted for 40 years. We in the EU agree that the energy sector, in particular the gas one, is not suitable for a list of possible sanctions against Russia. This means that despite the crisis we are ready to continue gas partnership. Russia supplies gas - Europe pays," Oettinger said.
