GAZPROM - AUSTRIA COOPERATION
GAZPROM - A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Johannes Eigner, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to the Russian Federation, took place in Moscow.
At the meeting, appreciation was expressed for the collaborative efforts of the parties in the gas sector. It was noted, inter alia, that Gazprom provided reliable gas supplies to the Austrian market amid an increasingly strong demand for Russian gas over the past years. According to estimates, Russian gas exports to Austria between January 1 and April 24 exceeded the amount exported in the same period of last year by 79.2 per cent, with 4.2 billion cubic meters of gas delivered to consumers.
The parties also discussed the progress of the Nord Stream 2 project. Alexey Miller informed Johannes Eigner that full sets of permits for the construction of the gas pipeline had been received from Germany and Finland. It was highlighted that the permitting process was proceeding as planned.
