REUTERS - U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures CLc1 were at $60.77 a barrel at 0753 GMT, up 6 cents, or 0.1 percent, from their previous settlement. Brent crude futures LCOc1 were at $64.62 per barrel, down just 2 cents from their last close.

OIL PRICES 2018 - 19: $62

EIA - North Sea Brent crude oil spot prices averaged $65 per barrel (b) in February, a decrease of $4/b from the January level and the first month-over-month average decrease since June 2017. EIA forecasts Brent spot prices will average about $62/b in both 2018 and 2019 compared with an average of $54/b in 2017.

NORWAY WIND ENERGY 4.5 GW

ENERDATA - 7 Feb 2022 - The Norwegian power utility Agder Energi and Macquarie’s Green Investment Group (GIG) have formed a partnership to jointly bid for a floating offshore wind project in the Norwegian North Sea. The project would be developed at Utsira Nord, one of the two areas the Norwegian Government opened to licensing applications for offshore wind development; Utsira Nord has an offshore wind potential of 1.5 GW (the other area, Sørlige Nordsjø II, has a potential of 3 GW).

Several consortia have already expressed interest in taking part to the future offshore wind tender: Equinor, RWE Renewables and Hydro will jointly bid for the Sørlige Nordsjø II area, along with a consortium of EnBW, Norseman Wind, ASKO Fornybar, and NorgesGruppen. RWE will also bid for the Utsira Nord area in a consortium with NTE and Havfram. Other bidders in the tenders will include a consortium of Ørsted, Fred. Olsen Renewables and Hafslund Eco, a consortium of BP, Aker and Staktraft, a consortium of Shell, BKK and Lyse and a consortium of Iberdrola, Iberdrola, TotalEnergies, and Norsk Havvind. In December 2021, EDF formed a 50:50 joint venture with the Norwegian independent power producer (IPP) Deep Wind Offshore to bid for the development of two commercial-scale projects in the Utsira Nord and Sorlige Nordsjo 2 zones.
