EDF HAS RAISED €1.164 BLN
ENERDATA - 7 Apr 2022 - The French energy group EDF has raised €3,164m through its latest capital increase, which was largely oversubscribed (total demand amounted to around €4.1bn, i.e., a 129% subscription rate). The French State has subscribed to the capital increase for around €2.7bn, i.e., around 83.88% of the capital increase, retaining 83.88% of EDF's new share capital. The proceeds from the capital increase will be used to finance the group's development operations between 2022 and 2024, in line with the CAP 2030 strategy, to strengthen EDF's credit rating and access to financing markets, and to strengthen EDF's financial flexibility. The group had also signed for €10.25bn of banking facilities in March 2022 and plans to sell around €3bn of assets between 2022 and 2024.
