Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) has renewed its 2017 Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of peaceful uses of nuclear energy with Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom. The document was signed by Mohamed Al Hammadi, CEO of ENEC, and Alexey Likhachov, Rosatom director general, in Abu Dhabi during Russian President Vladimir Putin's official visit to the United Arab Emirates.

“I’m worried about the decline of nuclear in the energy mix if governments don’t change their policies,” Birol said referring to new capacity and lifespan extensions.

“We won’t join the United States, but will cooperate closely with them,” Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga told a news briefing. “Self Defense Force assets will ensure the safety of vessels related to Japan.”

During a meeting in Moscow last month, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, who has already threatened to nationalize Chevron's assets, discussed the possibility of Rosneft taking over Chevron's Venezuelan operations, sources said.

Industrial production fell back 0.4 percent in September after advancing 0.8 percent in August. For the third quarter, industrial production rose at an annual rate of 1.2 percent following declines of about 2 percent in both the first and the second quarters.

Baker Hughes, a GE company (NYSE: BHGE) announced today its successful name change to Baker Hughes Company. The Company will be known as Baker Hughes, and on Oct. 18, 2019, its Class A common stock will begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “BKR”.

Brent slipped 16 cents to $58.58 a barrel, WTI gained 2 cents to $52.83.
