Saudi Arabia and Kuwait signed an agreement for the development plan of the Dorra gas field, called Arash by Iran, according to a statement by both countries on March 21.

Kuwait also plans to develop a 2 GW wind and solar project, which will be tendered by the Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects. Meanwhile, Iraq is also considering the strategic adoption of renewable energy as a way to wean itself off of Iranian imports of gas and power, its oil minister Ihsan Ismail told IPTC.

The Neutral Zone fields, which lie in onshore and offshore territory shared by Saudi Arabia and Kuwait at their border, were offline for more than four years until 2020, due to a political dispute that was resolved with a signing of an agreement in December 2019.

The meetings will decide the group's January production levels. The existing pact calls on OPEC+ countries to hike output quotas by 400,000 b/d, though the volumes can be changed per market conditions.
