EXXON STARTED IN RUSSIA

EXXON STARTED IN RUSSIA

ExxonMobil Corp. says it started production from Arkutun-Dagi field in its Sakhalin-1 project in northeastern Russia. The field is expected to produce about 90,000 boe/d.

Located off the northeast coast of Sakhalin Island in the Sea of Okhotsk, Arkutun-Dagi is the third and final Sakhalin-1 field to be developed. Chayvo and Odoptu fields began production in 2005 and 2010 respectively (OGJ Online, Sept. 9, 2010). All use land-based rigs for drilling and production.

ExxonMobil says production from the three fields will exceed 200,000 boe/d. New production will be routed through the Chayvo onshore processing plant on Sakhalin Island and piped to De-Kastri oil export terminal in Khabarovsk Krai, Russia.

Operator ExxonMobil holds a 30% stake in the Sakhalin-1 consortium. Partners are Sakhalin Oil & Gas Development Co. Ltd. 30%, RN-Astra 8.5%, Sakhalinmorneftegas-Shelf 11.5%, and Oil & Natural Gas Corp. Videsh Ltd. 20%.
