CHINA - TURKEY NUCLEAR

CHINA - TURKEY NUCLEAR

REUTERS - Turkey will build a third nuclear power plant in the Thrace region northwest of Istanbul, and will cooperate with China on the initiative, Energy Minister Fatih Donmez said on Wednesday.

Donmez also told broadcaster A Haber that Turkey's first nuclear power plant was expected to come online in 2023. The $20 billion, 4,800 megawatt (MW) plant has been beset by delays since its contract was awarded to Russia in 2010.

President Tayyip Erdogan announced the project for the third nuclear power plant last week, saying Turkey would also hold tenders for $4.8 billion of investment in 3,000 MW solar power stations.
