GAZPROM - June 6, 2019, 10:35. A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Jean-Pierre Clamadieu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ENGIE, took place today at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2019.

The parties discussed cooperation-related issues, paying special attention to gas supplies. It was pointed out that the French demand for Russian natural gas has been on the rise for the last four years. The upward trend continues in the current year as well. From January 1 through June 5, 2019, Gazprom's gas supplies to France totaled 5.8 billion cubic meters, an increase of 5.6 per cent from the same period of 2018.

The meeting also focused on the ongoing implementation of the Nord Stream 2 project.

It was noted that France ranks among Gazprom's key markets in Europe. The Company's gas exports to the country grew by 58 per cent in five years, reaching 12.9 billion cubic meters in 2018.

In 2018, Gazprom increased gas exports to France by 5.4 per cent as compared to 2017 – up to 12.9 billion cubic meters. This upward trend has remained throughout early 2019: according to provisional estimates, Gazprom exported 2.5 billion cubic meters of gas from January 1 to March 14, 2019, showing a 1.9 per cent increase compared to the same period of 2018.
