GAS DEMAND WILL UP 46%
Dr. Sentyurin also highlighted that - according to the Forum’s projections - by 2040, the demand for natural gas is expected to increase at an annual average pace of 1.7%, corresponding to overall growth of 46%. Most of this demand growth will come from the Asia-Pacific region, with Europe continuing to be an attractive market for many gas producers.

РУССКИЙ СПГ ДЛЯ ЯПОНИИ
В интервью «Nikkei» Министр энергетики Александр Новак сообщил, что к 2035 году производство СПГ в России увеличится почти в 5 раз и «достигнет около 20% доли в мировом производстве». Отметил, что до 70% СПГ будет экспортироваться на азиатско-тихоокеанский рынок и подчеркнул намерение укреплять сотрудничество с Японией в области СПГ.

COAL FOR JAPAN
Japan imported more than 210 million short tons (MMst) of coal in 2018, making it the world’s third-largest coal-importing country after only India and China. Japan continues to use steam coal to fuel one-third of its electricity generation and metallurgical coal for raw steel production.

A “clean energy resource” is defined as “any technology used to generate electricity without emitting carbon dioxide into the atmosphere,” including “(i) electric generation facilities that are powered by nuclear, solar, wind, falling water, wave motion, tides, or geothermal power; (ii) a natural gas-fired generation facility with 80 percent carbon capture; or (iii) a coal-fired generation facility with 90 percent carbon capture.”
