TURKEY'S HYDROPOWER PLANT 1.2 GW

ENERDATA28 Dec 2020 - The 1,200 MW Ilisu hydropower plant on the Tigris river in south-eastern Turkey has reached full capacity. The TRY18bn (US$2.4bn) project was approved by the Turkish authorities in 1997, an suffered several setbacks and delays.

Hydropower accounts for 31% of Turkey’s installed capacity, with 28.5 GW, and covered 29% of the power mix in 2019.

SOUTHERN GAS CORRIDOR EXTENDING
