BRAZIL'S SOLAR INVESTMENT R$4.5 BLN
VALOR - Jul 27 2020 - Alternative asset-management company Brookfield wants to invest between R$4 billion and R$4.5 billion in solar power in Brazil. The plan is to raise its capacity from that source to 1,500 megawatts, practically the same as the Canadian giant's other renewable sources in Brazil, including wind farms, biomass-fired plants and small hydroelectric plants (SHPs). Brookfield has reached an agreement with Spain's Solatio to build potentially the largest solar-power complex in Latin America, in Janaúba, in the north of Minas Gerais state.
