GERMANY WIND POWER 1.4 GW
ENERDATA - 27 Jan 2021 - In 2020, Germany installed 1,431 MW of new onshore wind capacity (+46%), raising the total installed onshore wind capacity to 54.9 GW, according to a survey by Deutsche WindGuard on behalf of BWE and VDMA Power Systems. For the year 2021, the association is forecasting an expansion of 2,000 - 2,500 MW based on the projects awarded.
In December 2020, the tender for 367 MW of onshore wind capacity was oversubscribed, attracting 96 bids totalling 657 MW. 58 bids totalling 400 MW were selected with price ranging from €5.59c/kWh to €6.07c/kWh (weighted average of €5.91c/kWh). The EEG 2021 passed at the end of 2020 provides for an expansion target for onshore wind energy of 71 GW by 2030, ensuring an average of almost 4,000 MW of tender volume per year up to 2028.
