MEXICO ELECTRICITY INVESTMENT $20 BLN
PRENSA LATINA - Mexico, Jan 24 - Mexico's Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) plans to invest the equivalent of 20 billion dollars in five years in the sector through the 2021-2025 Business Plan, which is circulating here.
The document indicates that one of the objectives of the strategy is to maintain the majority stake in electricity generation and at the same time increase the equity value of the company, which is why it is essential to renew the generation park.
The CFE seeks to maintain its leadership in the generation of electricity, for which it is necessary to finish the construction of the plants that were put out to tender prior to the energy reform by former President Enrique Peña Nieto, which increased corruption.
The company added that it also seeks to build new plants to meet the growth in demand, reduce production costs and increase the reliability of the National Electric System.
Between 2020 and 2021, various generation plants will enter into commercial operation, which were part of the investment decisions of the planning process prior to the Energy Reform.
