TURKSTREAM BEGINNING
ENERDATA - 5 Jan 2021 - Russia's Gazprom has started to export natural gas to Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina through the TurkStream gas pipeline. In January 2020, Russia and Turkey officially commissioned the 31.5 bcm/year TurkStream gas pipeline stretching 930 km across the Black Sea and that will supply 15.75 bcm/year to Turkey and 15.75 bcm/year to Bulgaria, Serbia and Hungary. Russian gas is now brought via Bulgaria's national gas transmission system to Serbia, where it is distributed among consumers in Serbia and in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

TURKEY'S GAS IMPORTS UP
In October 2020, the country imported 3.24 bcm of natural gas via pipelines, while 795 million cubic meters (mcm) was purchased as liquefied natural gas (LNG), EPDK's data showed. This marked an increase in pipeline gas imports of 36.2% and 2.5% in LNG imports.

The $40 billion Southern Gas Corridor comprises the 16 Bcm/year BP-operated Shah Deniz 2 field offshore Azerbaijan, the expanded South Caucasus Pipeline via Georgia, the TANAP pipeline in Turkey and the 10 Bcm/year TAP link to Italy.
