NETHERLANDS RENEWABLES + 10.7GW

ENERDATA15 Nov 2021 - The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management of the Netherlands has released the draft Additional Design Programme North Sea 2022-2027, which aims to add an additional 10.7 GW offshore wind capacity by 2030, on top of the 11.5 GW already planned, raising the total additional offshore wind capacity to 22.2 GW. The Netherlands has identified the IJmuiden Ver North area, the southern part of Hollandse Kust West, and wind energy areas 1, 2 and 5 East as potential offshore wind development areas, which could accommodate 16.7 GW of wind capacity. The Netherlands aims to cut greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 49% by 2030 compared to 1990 CO2 levels, and by 95% by 2050.
