RUSSIA'S URANIUM GROWTH
ENERDATA - 16 Nov 2021 - Rosatom's uranium mining subsidiary ARMZ and its subsidiary JSC Dalur have started construction work at Dobrovolnoye in the Zverinogolovsky district of the Kurgan region of Russia to develop the uranium deposit beyond the pilot operation. Mining operations at the Dobrovolnoye deposit, which has estimated reserves of 7,067 tU, are expected to start in December 2022. The project is expected to allow Dalur to expand its volume of uranium recovery from 590 to 700 t/year.
Russia is the world's seventh-largest producer of uranium, with an output of 2,846 t in 2020. The country's uranium reserves reach 256,000 t.
