BRITAIN'S WIND POWER 1.2 GW
ENERDATA - 3 Dec 2021 - The third 1,200 MW phase (Phase C) of the Dogger Bank offshore wind project, located 130 km off the northeast coast of England (United Kingdom), has reached financial close. Phase C will include 87 GE wind turbines rated 14 MW each. Turbine installations will start in 2025 and the project should be completed in 2026. Once commissioned, it should become the largest offshore wind park in the world.
The 3,600 MW Dogger Bank offshore wind project is developed in three 1,200 MW phases, by SSE, Equinor and Eni. SSE and Equinor each own 40% in Phases A and B, with Eni holding 20%. In November 2021, SSE and Equinor, which each own 50% in Phase C, agreed to sell 20% to Eni and to cut their stake in Phase C to 40% each; the transaction is expected to close in early 2022.
