DUTCH RENEWABLES 5.2 GW

DUTCH RENEWABLES 5.2 GW

ENERDATA7 Dec 2021 - The Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy has received 4,109 applications in the first round of the 2021 SDE++ (Stimulering Duurzame Energieproductie) programme for large-scale solar and renewable energy, which was largerly oversubscribed. The cumulated applications would require a total budget of €12bn, compared with €5bn earmarked for the round. The proposals include 5,170 MW of renewable projects, of which 4,132 MW are solar PV projects, 243 MW geothermal projects and 151 MW biomass projects. They also include sustainable heating projects and CO2 capture and storage or capture and use projects totalling 946 tCO2/hour. Overall, the submitted projects would cut CO2 emissions by 7.26 Mt/year.

The SDE++ scheme will be adjusted step by step in 2022 and 2023 and its budget will be raised - along with the ceiling for CCS - in 2022.
