GERMANY'S RENEWABLE ENERGY 11 GW

GERMANY'S RENEWABLE ENERGY 11 GW

ENERDATA20 Dec 2021 - The European Commission has approved, under EU state aid rules, the plan of the German government to increase the solar and onshore wind power capacity that will be tendered under the country's Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG 2021). The volume for solar capacity will be raised by 4,100 MW to around 6,050 MW in 2022 and the volume for onshore wind will be raised by 2,100 MW to around 5,000 MW. The increased tender volumes were included in the EEG 2021 with the spring amendment, which came into force in July 2021. However, the European Commission has reserved the right to make a final decision at a later point in time on the third round of the solar tender after observing the competition on the market.
