RENEWABLE FOR TURKEY 4 GW

ENERDATA28 May 2021 - The Turkish authorities plans to administer four Renewable Energy Resource Zone (YEKA) tenders for solar and wind in 2021. The country intends to award 2,000 MW of solar and 2,000 MW of wind. Turkey aims to produce 50% of its electricity from renewables by 2023 (up from 44% in 2019). Solar accounts for 7% and wind for 9% of Turkey’s installed capacity, with 6.7 GW and 8.8 GW respectively at the end of 2020.
