CHINA NUCLEAR UP
ENERDATA - 4 Aug 2021 - The Chinese state-run nuclear group China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) has officially started construction works at the Xudabao 3 nuclear unit in China with the pouring of first concrete. The Xudabao nuclear project, located in the Liaoning province, should include six 1,000 MW units. Construction works on unit 4 are expected to start in 2022. In 2019, CNNC and Rosatom signed an agreement on the construction of two VVER-1200 nuclear reactors (units 1 and 2) and the general contract for two additional VVER-1200 reactors (units 3 and 4) to be commissioned as soon as 2027-2028.
The Xudabao nuclear project is owned by Liaoning Nuclear Power Company, a joint venture of CNNC (70%), Datang International (20%) and State Development and Investment Corporation (10%).
