RENEWABLE FOR POLAND 39 GW

ENERDATA26 Aug 2021 - PKN Orlen has entered a partnership with GE Renewable Energy to support the development of offshore wind projects in Poland. The deal is expected to help the country take full advantage of its offshore wind resources. Poland plans to auction up to 10.9 GW of offshore wind projects by 2030 and up to 28 GW of offshore wind by 2050.

In June 2021, NP Baltic Wind, owned by PKN Orlen (51%) and Northland Power (49%), won a 25-year Contract for Difference (CfD) for its 1.2 GW Baltic Power offshore wind power plant project off the coasts of Łeba and Choczewo with a reference price of PLN319.6/MWh (€70.55/MWh). The project should enter construction in 2023 and start commercial operations in 2026.
