TURKMENISTAN GAS FOR CHINA
ENERDATA - 26 Aug 2021 - Turkmenistan has reached a natural gas deal with state-owned China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC). The Chinese state-owned company will set up three new wells at the Galkynysh field. Each will have an output of 3 mcm/d of natural gas. Construction is expected to last almost 3 years. In exchange, the country will supply 17 bcm/year of natural gas for the period of three years to a total of 51 bcm. In 2019, the country produced 87 bcm of natural gas. Almost 70% of Turkmenistan’s natural gas output is exported.
