INDIA'S SOLAR POWER 40 GW

ENERDATA29 Sep 2021 - The Indian state-owned power utility NTPC has won 1.9 GW of solar projects in the 5 GW Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) Scheme Phase-II. The program aims to set up 12 GW of grid-connected solar projects by state-owned producers. In addition, the state-owned hydropower producer Satluz Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) has secured one fifth of the solar capacity tendered. Solar accounts for 9% of India’s installed capacity, with 37.5 GW (end-2020) and over 40 GW in March 2021. The country aims to develop 175 GW of renewable power capacity by 2022, including 100 GW of solar.
