TURKEY, AZERBAIJAN GAS AGREEMENT
ENERDATA - 29 Sep 2021 - Turkey has renewed a long-term natural gas supply contract with Azerbaijan. The two countries signed a 20-year contract in 2001 for 6.6 bcm/year of natural, which expired in April 2021. In 2020, Turkey imported 48 bcm of natural gas (+7% compared to 2019). Azerbaijan is the second-largest natural gas supplier to Turkey accounting for a quarter of total imports, after Russia (33%).

RENEWABLES FOR AZERBAIJAN: 30%
Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov has said that Azerbaijan, which is an exporter of traditional energy resources, aims to bring the share of renewable energy in the total installed capacity of electricity to 30 percent by 2030.

RUSSIAN GAS FOR TURKEY +153%
From January 1 through September 19, 2021, Gazprom delivered 20.3 billion cubic meters of gas to Turkey. This is an all-time high amount of gas for this period and an increase of 153 per cent (or 12.3 billion cubic meters) against 2020 (8 billion cubic meters).

TURKEY'S GAS UP
Within one year, Turkey has completed five deep-sea drillings in the Black Sea at the Sakarya field, where it has discovered more than half a trillion cubic meters of natural gas since August last year.
