WIND ENERGY FOE CHILE 980 MW
ENERDATA - 17 Sep 2021 - Colbún, the second largest power generation company in Chile, has secured environmental approval for the 980 MW Horizonte wind project in the municipality Taltal, in the Antofagasta Region. The company had started the environmental impact assessment for the project in February 2020. The US$700m project, which is expected to generate 2 TWh/year, will include 140 turbines with a maximum power of 7 MW. Construction should start in the second half of 2021 and last 3 years (commissioning in 2024 at the earliest).
