Iran, an OPEC member whose oil exports have dwindled since the re-imposition of US sanctions in 2018, began in April indirect talks with the US in Vienna amid hopes for Washington to rejoin the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action nuclear deal.

March coal exports were up 2.5% from 6.71 million mt in February and 9.7% higher than the year-ago month. It was the highest in a month since 7.01 million mt in September 2019.
