International Rig Count is up 17 rigs from last month to 834 with land rigs up 20 to 648, offshore rigs down 3 to 186.
International. Rig Count is up 169 rigs from last year's count of 665, with land rigs up 139, offshore rigs up 30.
The average U.S. Rig Count for December was 579 up 19 from last months count of 560 and up 240 year-over-year.
The average Canada Rig Count for December was 150 down 17 from last months count of 167 and up 50 year-over-year.
The Worldwide Rig Count for December was 1,563, up 19 from the 1,544 counted in November 2021,and up 459 from the 1,104 counted in December 2020.

This year, demand for petroleum, both in the United States and globally, has largely returned to the pre-pandemic levels in 2019. Demand has grown faster than supply, reducing inventories and contributing to higher prices for crude oil and petroleum products.
