CROATIA, SLOVENIA ENERGY COOPERATION
ENERDATA - 30 Mar 2022 - Croatia and Slovenia have decided to strengthen their energy cooperation, especially in the field of gas and nuclear power. Croatia will support Slovenia if it decides to build a new nuclear reactor at the Krško nuclear power plant, since Croatia owns a 50% stake in the Slovenian nuclear power plant. Meanwhile, Slovenia has expressed its interest in rapidly expanding the capacity of the Krk LNG import terminal in Croatia, which is currently leased until 2027. Croatia has already increased Krk LNG capacity from 2.6 bcm/year to 2.9 bcm/year and it could be raised again to 3.5 bcm/year. Croatia would also expand the capacity of the existing gas pipelines and interconnections, especially the Zlobin-Bosiljevo and Lučko-Zabok-Rogatec gas pipelines.
