GERMAN WIND ENERGY 1.3 GW

GERMAN WIND ENERGY 1.3 GW

ENERDATA24 Mar 2022 - The German energy regulator Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur or BNetzA) has launched a tender for the development of 1,320 MW of onshore wind capacity. The project will be awarded to the bidder who registers the lowest subsidy requirement and the maximum value for bids (ceiling price) is set at €5.88c/kWh. Bids are open until 1 May 2022. Only new plants that have received permits under the Federal Immission Control Act by 4 April 2022, or projects for existing plants already in operation if their capacity is to be increased by more than 15% can participate in the auction. The country plans to tender a total of 4 GW of onshore wind in 2022 divided into three rounds through the year.

Earlier in March 2022, the BNetzA published the results of the latest tenders for onshore wind with a bidding date set for 1 February 2022. The auction for 1,328 MW of onshore wind capacity attracted 147 bids totalling 1,356 MW. Six bids were excluded and 1,332 MW were awarded, with prices ranging from €4.77c/kWh to €5.88c/kWh (weighted average of €5.76c/kWh, -0.5% compared to the previous round).
