PORTUGAL RENEWABLES 80%
ENERDATA - 18 Mar 2022 - The Ministry of Environment and Energy Transition of Portugal intends to auction floating wind projects with a total capacity of 3-4 GW between June and September 2022. The floating offshore wind projects could be commissioned as soon as 2026.
Portugal's NECP 2030 (2021-2030) sets a target of 47% of RES contribution in final energy consumption (from around 30% in 2020). The country currently generates around 60% of its electricity from renewables (hydropower, wind and solar) and expects to reach 80% before 2030.
As a whole, the European Union targets at least 60 GW of offshore wind capacity by 2030.
