TUNISIA SOLAR POWER 3.8 GW

ENERDATA - 28 Feb 2022 - The Tunisian government is working on a national strategy for solar power generation and aims to reach 3,815 MW of installed solar capacity by 2030, in order to raise the share of solar in its power mix. This target is in line with the Tunisian Solar Plan (PST) that was launched following the signing of the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement. So far, the Tunisian government has launched tenders for a total capacity of 1,100 MW, of which 500 MW should be developed under concession contracts, 400 MW under the authorization system and 200 MW under the self-generation system. In 2020, solar capacity was still marginal (95 MW) in the country's installed capacity (6.1 GW), but around 3.5 GW of solar projects have been announced.
