U.S. RIGS  UP 0 TO 650

BAKER HUGHES - March 4, 2022 -   

U.S. Rig Count is unchanged from last week at 650 with oil rigs down 3 to 519, gas up 3 to 130, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 1. 

U.S. Rig Count is up 247 rigs from last year's count of 403 with oil rigs up 209 gas rigs up 38 and miscellaneous unchanged at 1. 

The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is unchanged at 12, down 2 year-over-year.

Canada Rig Count is down 7 from last week to 217, with oil rigs down 4 to 134, gas rigs down 3 to 82 and miscellaneous unchanged at 1.

Canada Rig Count is up 76 rigs from last year's count of 141, with oil rigs up 54, gas rigs up 21 and miscellaneous up 1.

OIL PRICES 2022-23: $87-$68
This dynamic leads to rising global oil inventories from 2Q22 through the end of 2023, and the Brent spot price will fall to an average of $87/b in 2Q22 and $75/b in 4Q22. The Brent price will average $68/b for all of 2023.

The Worldwide Rig Count for January was 1,632, up 69 from the 1,563 counted in December 2021,and up 449 from the 1,183 counted in January 2021.

Brent crude oil spot prices averaged $71 per barrel (b) in 2021, and we forecast Brent prices will average $75/b in 2022 and $68/b in 2023.
