ENERDATA - 19 May 2022 - The Indian renewable group Greenko has initiated the construction of the world’s largest integrated renewable energy storage project in the Andhra Pradesh state (India). The project is set to reach a storage capacity of 5,230 MW and involves 10,800 MWh of daily storage capacity from a pumped-storage plant, with the integration of 3,000 MW of solar and 550 MW of wind capacity. The project is estimated to cost over US$3bn and should be commissioned by the final quarter of 2023.

INDIA NEED COAL
Out of the 204.9 GW of installed coal-fired power generation capacity in India, around 17.6 GW is designed specifically to run on imported coal. Other power plants import the fuel for blending with domestic coal.
