DANISH WIND CAPACITY + 9 GW

ENERDATA21 Feb 2023 - The Danish government plans to tender 9 GW of offshore wind capacity in 2023. The tendered projects, which includes Energiø Bornholm, Hesselø and a further 5 GW, will enable to generate electricity covering the power consumption of more than 9 m households. The power can also go to Danish PtX plants.

At the end of 2021, offshore wind represented 14% of Denmark’s installed capacity with 2.3 GW (4.7 GW for onshore wind). In June 2022, Denmark increased its offshore wind target for 2030 from 8.9 GW to 12.9 GW.
