REUTERS - U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures CLc1 were at $60.77 a barrel at 0753 GMT, up 6 cents, or 0.1 percent, from their previous settlement. Brent crude futures LCOc1 were at $64.62 per barrel, down just 2 cents from their last close.

EIA - North Sea Brent crude oil spot prices averaged $65 per barrel (b) in February, a decrease of $4/b from the January level and the first month-over-month average decrease since June 2017. EIA forecasts Brent spot prices will average about $62/b in both 2018 and 2019 compared with an average of $54/b in 2017.

GERMANY'S RENEWABLE PRICES UP
ENERDATA - 2 Mar 2023 - The German Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur or BNetzA) has released the results of the latest round of tenders for 3,210 MW of onshore wind projects, with a bid deadline on 1 February 2023. The auction attracted 126 bids totalling 1,502 MW. After excluding 7 bids due to formal errors, the regulator selected 119 proposals with prices ranging between €7.24c/kWh and the maximum permissible value of €7.35c/kWh. The volume-weighted average reached €7.34c/kWh (+25% compared to the previous round). Most of the projects will be developed in North Rhine-Westphalia (387 MW, 40 awards) and Lower Saxony (354 MW, 16 awards).
In addition, the regulator received 94 bids totalling 213 MW for a rooftop solar auction with a tendered volume of 217 MW. 7 bids were excluded and 87 projects totalling 195 MW were accepted, with prices ranging from €9c/kWh to €11.25c/kWh. The volume-weighted average reached €10.87c/kWh (+24% compared to the previous round).
Most contracts were awarded to projects in North Rhine-Westphalia (36 MW, 16 projects), followed by Brandenburg (20 MW, 11 projects), Baden-Württemberg (19 MW, 9 projects) and Bavaria (19 MW, 8 projects).

"If we continue to meet our savings target of at least 20% in Germany, if three LNG terminals start operating at the beginning of next year at the latest, and if the expected winter-related decline in imports and the rise in currently low exports remain moderate, then we can get through the winter without a national gas emergency," he said in a statement.
