GAZPROM RESERVES UP

ЗАПАСЫ ГАЗПРОМА ВЫРОСЛИ

GAZPROM - March 21, 2023 - The Gazprom Board of Directors took note of the information about the ongoing work on resource base support, geological surveys of subsoil and geological exploration operations performed by the Company.

It was highlighted that the replenishment of the resource base through geological exploration is a major activity for Gazprom. First and foremost, this work is aimed at the effective proactive compensation of the gas volumes being produced. In this way, the Company provides long-term possibilities for further reliable gas supplies to the existing and prospective consumers.

In 2022, the Gazprom Group conducted 3D seismic surveys over a total area of more than 8,000 square kilometers, drilled more than 48,000 meters of rock, and built exploration and prospecting & appraisal wells, including those on the shelves of the Barents and Kara Seas.

As a result, according to preliminary data, a total of 529.2 billion cubic meters of gas were added to natural gas reserves in the course of geological exploration in 2022. This means that gas reserve addition rates have been surpassing gas production rates for as many as 18 consecutive years (with the 2022 production rates standing at 412.6 billion cubic meters of gas).

In 2022, the biggest addition was achieved in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area, in particular, at the Tambeyskoye and Pestsovoye fields. Moreover, Gazprom discovered the Seyakhinskoye gas and condensate field in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area last year.

The geological exploration works in Eastern Siberia and the Far East are pursued. Inter alia, a gas reserve addition was obtained at the Chayandinskoye field in Yakutia.

At the same time, Russian LNG imports into the EU rose by around a third to 14.1 million mt (19 Bcm), but it was LNG from other sources -- the US in particular -- that helped fill some of the gap left by lost Russian gas.
