CHINA SOLAR FOR PHILIPPINES $4 BLN
ENERDATA - 21 November 2024 - China Energy Engineering Group Co. (Energy China) has signed an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract with Terra Solar Philippines for the development of a 3.5 GW solar project on the island of Luzon, in northern Philippines.
The US$4bn Terra Solar project will also feature a 4.5 GWh battery energy storage system (BESS). The project is developed by Terra Solar, a subsidiary of Solar Philippines New Energy Corporation (SPNEC).
At the end of 2023, the Philippines had a total installed capacity of 28 GW, of which solar represented a little more than 5% (1.6 GW).
