OPEC+ RUSSIA BALANCE
МИНЭНЕРГО РОССИИ - May 22, 2024 - As part of the OPEC+ agreement and voluntary reductions taken by a number of countries, including the Russian Federation, production restrictions were extended to the second quarter of 2024. These measures are aimed at stabilizing the situation on the global oil market and maintaining a balance between supply and demand. In the 1st quarter of 2024, the Russian Federation consistently exceeded the terms of the agreement and produced below the established quotas. In April, as part of voluntary cuts, Russian oil production was slightly above target levels.
Overproduction was due to the technical features of reducing production by a significant amount. Russia is fully committed to the OPEC+ agreements, plans to compensate for shortfalls in production plans and will soon submit to the OPEC Secretariat its plan to cover small deviations from voluntary production levels.
