CHINA ENERGY TRANSMISSION 1,271 KM

ENERDATA- 04 September 2024 - The State Grid Corporation of China has started construction of a 750 kV Ultra-High Voltage (UHV) transmission line in the Shaanxi province, in central China. The CNY7.1bn (US$998m) transmission project will run for 1,271 km between the cities of Shenmu in northern Shaanxi to Lantian in the south. With this project, the power transmission capacity from northern to southern Shaanxi will increase from the current 6 GW to more than 10 GW.

In January 2024, State Grid announced that it would invest CNY500bn (US$70bn) in grid network construction in 2024 to develop UHV lines, ensure power supply stability and boost renewable power consumption in China. State Grid expects to complete six UHV AC lines in 2024 and start several new UHV projects.
