CHINA WIND +3 GW

ENERDATA - 09 April 2025 China has announced the start of construction on three offshore wind projects totalling 3 GW off the coast of the Guangdong Province, southern China, namely the Fanshi-1, Qingzhou-5 and Qingzhou-7 projects.
The Qingzhou-5 and 7 projects, which boast a capacity of 1 GW each, are being developed by the Chinese company China Three Gorges, while the 1 GW Fanshi-1 project is being developed by CGNPC. All three wind parks are located off the coast of Yangjiang and planned for commissioning before the end of 2026.
China’s wind power capacity increased by a record 18% (+80 GW) in 2024 to reach nearly 521 GW.
