GLOBAL RUSSIAN NUCLEAR WEEK
N - May 26, 2025 - From 26 to 30 September, the All-Russia Exhibition Centre (VDNKh – Vistravka Dostizhenii Narodnovo Khozyaistva) in Moscow will host the international forum World Atomic Week, dedicated to the nuclear and related industries. The event will be attended by leaders of countries developing nuclear programmes, representatives of government agencies and large companies, as well as scientists and entrepreneurs.
The forum is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Russian nuclear industry. It will open with the festival of development of young talents and popularisation of science aimed at attracting schoolchildren and students to work in the nuclear power industry. The business programme, Everything starts with the atom, follows and will bring together participants from different countries at a plenary session and thematic round tables. This will include a specialised exhibition of the latest developments in the nuclear industry, demonstrating both energy and non-energy applications of nuclear technologies.
World Atomic Week incorporates Atomexpo 2025 – the main event of the global nuclear industry. This major exhibition and business platform has been held since 2009. The event is attended by heads of key companies in the global nuclear industry, government agencies, international and public organisations, and leading experts. In addition to the main programme, technical tours to nuclear power plants and other facilities of the nuclear industry, as well as cultural events are organised for participants.

RUSSIAN NUCLEAR FLEET
There is also a larger nuclear-powered icebreaker under construction, the Rossiya, which will be the first of the proposed Project 10510 nuclear-powered icebreakers. It will feature two RITM-400 reactors for a propeller power of 120 MW. It will be able to penetrate ice up to 4.3 metres thick and clear a channel up to 50 metres wide. Its most recent reported construction target service date is 2030.
