EIA - North Sea Brent crude oil spot prices averaged $65 per barrel (b) in February, a decrease of $4/b from the January level and the first month-over-month average decrease since June 2017. EIA forecasts Brent spot prices will average about $62/b in both 2018 and 2019 compared with an average of $54/b in 2017.

RENEWABLES FOR INDIA 5 GW
ENERDATA - 02 June 2025 - NLC India Renewables Ltd (NIRL), a subsidiary of the Indian coal group NLC India, and Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology (MAHAPREIT) have announced their partnership to develop a total of 5 GW of renewable energy projects in India. The JV plans to develop the renewable projects (solar, wind, hybrid, floating solar, BESS, pumped-storage hydropower) in phases, with an initial capacity of 500 MW to ramp up to 2 GW, and to eventually scale up to 5 GW. The majority of the company’s shares will be held by NIRL (74%), with MAHAPREIT holding the rest (26%).
In September 2024 MAHAPREIT signed a JV agreement with NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL) to develop 10 GW of renewable projects in Maharashtra and other states of India.
India plans to increase its non-fossil fuel capacity to 500 GW by 2030.
