INDIA RENEWABLES UP

ENERDATA -01 August 2025 - The Indian hydropower group NHPC has issued a request for selection (RfS) to set up 1.2 GW of solar projects at the Jalaun Solar Energy Park at Jalaun in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The projects will be developed by Bundelkhand Saur Urja, its joint venture with the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency, as four 300 MW subprojects and will have to be commissioned within 18 months from the effective date of the signing of the power purchase agreement (PPA). The minimum bid capacity is 300 MW and the maximum capacity is 600 MW.

In addition, REMCL, a joint venture of the Indian Ministry of Railways and RITES, has issued a RfS for the supply of 1 GW of round-the-clock (RTC) power from grid-connected renewable energy projects (from solar, wind and hydro), with or without storage, anywhere in India. The minimum bid capacity is 100 MW and the maximum capacity is 1,000 MW.

Moreover, the Indian renewable project developer Avaada Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Bihar (Indian), for developing 1 GW of renewable energy projects across the state, including ground-mounted and floating solar, community solar plants, and battery energy storage systems (BESS). The projects are expected to be operational in 2027.
