Iranian crude production has risen in recent months, hitting 2.14 million b/d in February, a 190,000 b/d increase from a 33-year low of 1.95 million b/d in August.

The state-owned Indian power utility NTPC has registered a +8.2% increase in electricity production in 2020/21 reaching 314 TWh (April 2020 to March 2021).

Brent fell 96 cents, or 1.5%, to $63.90 a barrel. WTI was at $60.56 a barrel, down 89 cents, or 1.5%.

Brent rose $1.94, or 3.1%, to $64.68 a barrel. WTI was up $2.10, or 3.6%, at $61.26 a barrel.

U.S. Rig Count is up 13 from last week at 430, Canada Rig Count is down 12 from last week to 69

Brent was up by 91 cents, or 1.5%, at $63.65 a barrel. WTI was up 99 cents, or 1.7%, at $60.15 a barrel.

The positives offer hope, but we need to remember that the environment remains challenging, complex and uncertain, with the market volatility we have witnessed in the last two weeks of March a reminder of the fragility facing economies and oil demand.

However, Russian gas remains competitive for European buyers given its low-cost production base and long-term reliability.

U.S. commercial crude oil inventories decreased by 0.9 million barrels to 501.8 million barrels.

Brent rose 32 cents, or 0.5%, to $64.46 a barrel. WTI climbed 26 cents, or 0.4%, to $60.81 a barrel.

OPEC+ will discuss whether to revive part of the 1.2 million barrels a day of output it’s committed to returning to the market in installments this year. At the same time, the Saudis will review the status of an additional 1 million barrel-a-day cut they have been making since February to accelerate the process of clearing the lingering oil glut.
