Energoatom has selected Westinghouse AP1000 technology for their long-term goals to develop new NPPs in Ukraine.

In 2018, PGNiG agreed to import 3.5 Mt/year of LNG from Venture Global’s Calcasieu Pass LNG project.

Gazprom will supply 4.5 bcm/year of natural gas to Hungary, with 3.5 bcm/year via Serbia and 1 bcm/year via Austria.

"For the development of nuclear energy, which inevitably awaits us after the end of coal combustion in the Czech Republic, it is essential that Czech industry maintain high competencies in the widest possible range of expertise related to nuclear energy,"

The US cooperation with Romania was described by the DOE as laying the foundation "for Romania to utilise US expertise and technology with a multinational team building reactor units 3 and 4 of the Cernavoda nuclear power plant and refurbishing reactor unit 1."

Serbia’s installed capacity stood at 8 GW at the end of 2020, with 52% of coal and 39% of hydro.

Energoatom will initiate the development of draft bilateral documents and measures aimed at deepening Ukrainian-American nuclear cooperation with the support of Westinghouse.

“We expect that the dialogue launched this year will give us an opportunity to find practical common interests for establishing cooperation between Energoatom and Canadian partners,” said Energoatom Acting President Petr Kotin.

Orlen said it will gain access to SMR technologies and experience, while Synthos will acquire a "solid partner" for joint development of small nuclear power plants in Poland.

Naftogaz also wants to force Russia to allow other Russian producers to be able to export pipeline gas via Ukraine to Europe.

The eight tenders targeted contracts for 68 TWh of renewable electricity, but the auction result was 36.7 TWh at a value of PLN 8.5 billion (USD 2.26bn/EUR 1.89bn). In 2020, 54.5 TWh got contracted.

Turkey intends to award 2,000 MW of solar and 2,000 MW of wind.

In March Westinghouse said it will source and develop a supply chain that could create more than 2,000 jobs in Poland if it is selected as a nuclear power partner for Poland with its AP1000 reactor technology.
