China churned out 395.79 million tonnes of coal last month, data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed on Monday, equivalent to 12.77 million tonnes per day.

China has increased its pipeline gas imports from Russia to 43 million cu m/day or around 15 Bcm/year since December 2021,

China's crude imports in the first quarter averaged 10.41 million b/d, down 8.1% year on year.

Bitumen and residue amounted to 18,700 mt, marking a 34.9% increase on February. Overall, 756,900 mt of oil products headed to China last month.

CNOOC has a 10% stake in the 19.8 million mt/year Arctic LNG 2 project, which is also its solo asset in Russia.

China will pursue its strategy to reduce the share of coal in its energy consumption, aiming to reach 17.3% of non-fossil energies in its total energy consumption in 2022, up from 16% in 2020.

Sinopec's crude oil production almost reached 280 mbl in 2021 (39 Mt, -0.2% on 2020), including 250 mbl in China (stable) and 30 mbl overseas (-1.8%).

"Currently the company's operations and business in Russia are largely running smooth and there are no signs of asset impairment," Sinopec's President Yu Baocai told investors and reporters during a call following its 2021 earnings release.
